Eye Look 1: Night Time

On Friday night, I went out for dinner (which was by the way amazing... especially the vanilla cheesecake!) and it was a bit posh so I thought I might as well make an effort. The eye look I created was using the 17 eyeshadow trio in 'Galactic', which I mentioned in my previous post here.

Without flash:

The colours are amazing and are really pigmented. The left colour is a dark emerald green (which when mixed with MAC's Carbon or UD's Zero looks even more deeper and pretty!). The middle colour is a light green, but I would describe it as a deeper tone to a lime green. Then the final colour is a highlighter, which is cream white with a hint of light green in it.

Here is the look that I came up with:

Im sorry, the pictures should have been better, but I hope you like the look! :) I used the light green all over my lid with the dark green in the crease and brought it more in towards the inner part of my eye. The lighest colour was used as a brow highlight.

What do you think of the look?

Oh and I got my eyebrows tinted (after these pics were taken) to see what all the fuss was about and even though my brows are quite dark, the tint helped to define them and fill in parts that looked a bit 'neh'. But I do love how it looks and I might so a bit darker next time! ;)

Have a good week! :)

Small Shopping Spree! :)

So as girls do best, I (along with my sister) popped into The Body Shop and Boots and I picked up a few things! Here is what I got:

From The Body Shop I got:

Skin sponge- (£2)
This product is quite amazing, firstly because it is made out of recycled milk cartons , secondly, it is cheap and thirdly, it exfoliates quite well.

Eyeshadow Brush (£9)
I wanted to try this range of brushes for a long time (they have won best high street make up brushes or something like that!)
I have tried it a few times and the bristles are so soft and applies the eyeshadow evenly. Its one of those fuss free products, its simple and does the job! :) I can't really compare to any of the MAC brushes, because I only own the MAC 209- can't really compare that.. haha!

Wide tooth comb (£3)
I LOVE this. My hair can get really tangled and I was using the Boots wide tooth comb, but I didn't like it. So when I saw this I thought I might as well try it and I'm v. glad that I did :)

From Boots I got:

PURE Kajal eyeliner- Sophisticated Brown (£2) On Sale
First, it looks like a lipstick, which I thought was cool and one of the main reasons I got it!

I have tried this a few times since I have got it and it is quite good, but to get the colour payoff you have to warm it slightly on the back of your hand, then apply it. I know, I know the colour has a very posh name but I really love the packaging, its sleek and smart.

Its soft and is easy to work with it. I use it as a base or as a highlight for the inner corner.

The picture of the swatch is quite naff to be honest (sorry!) but  I can only describe it as being very similar to Sable by MAC, except the eyeliner has a slight darker tone to it. But the picture does show you how opaque it is, its defo not sheer and does have glitter flecks.

17 Starry Eyes Eyeshadow Trio in Galactic (£5)
I got a few of the other sets and I was soo impressed that I went back to get this one. 'Galactic' has a dark emeral green shade, a light lime kinda shade and a white/cream highlighter, so you only really need this product to do a whole eye look. Score!I repurchased this as I lost my original one! :(

When I swatched this I thought 'OMG the colours are amazing, they are soo pigmented'. I would certainly say that they are quite close to MAC eyeshadows, especially this trio and "Neptune' (check it out!). They blend really well, don't have that much fall out and the colours are beautiful.

I am uploaded an eye look a while ago here using these colours and you will be able to see how nice they are. I really recommend them! ;)

Hope everyone is having a good weekend! :)

Nails: Barry M Nail Paint- Pink Flamingo

Well, summer is supposed to be here but typical England, the weather is weird! It's sunny, then raining then sunny. So, to cheer myself up I thought I would paint my nails to get into the summer swing (when it does eventually arrive!) and the colour I chose was one of my favourites- Barry M's 305- Pink Flamingo. I'm sure you have seen this colour like a million times, but I kind of forgot about it (whoops!) and when I found it, I HAD to wear it!

I love this polish firstly because the colour is sooo pigmented and bright- you don't really need two coats but I always slap 2 coats of every nail polish. Its easy to apply aswell.
I got this colour a year ago and they retail for about £3 and I got advantage points too ;) win, win, win!

Here is a picture with flash:

Without flash:

Its one of those colours that I can't really explain how it looks, but when you see it in person, you will LOVE it. It just amazing and so unique.

What do you guys think of Barry M?

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend :)

Review: Dermalogica 'Skin Refining Masque'

I am obsessed with skincare. I am always trying to find products that actually do what they claim to do (because we all know, some of it can be a hoo-ha!) So, after trying a sample, I decided to buy a face mask (with my own money) from Dermalogica and here is what I thought.

Dermalogica 'Skin Refining Masque' This is for individuals who have excess oil production. Even though my skin is not oily, its combo, I do get spots! :(  so I thought why not give it shot to zap those little devils on my face! So I tried this and I LOVE it... Its got Kaolin and Bentonite clays (which absorb oils), Zinc Oxide (to remove impurities and refine the skin surface), Arnica and Cucumber to soothe whilst Watercress to purify and Lemon to revive dull skin.

I like that this product comes in a tube, so that it you can control how much comes out. Also, I don't have to dip my fingers in the mask to get some out as that can be quite unhygienic (even if they are clean!).

The consistency of the masque is of white thick consistency, but it has to be applied thinly over the face and throat (so spread, spread, spread!) I leave it on for about 10 mins and when I take it off, my face feels smooth and generally nicer. It does dry up spots and does not leave your skin that dry or tight (as I would of thought!) *thumbs up!*
It is easy to wash off, unlike other masks which are a nightmare!

TIP: Exfoliate before you do the masque- Well, Dermalogica recommends it! ;)

Note: Make sure that when you buy Dermalogica products they have that silver shiny seal thingy at the top as it shows that the product is a real Dermalogica product, as there are fakes. Weird, but true :) It should look something like this:

Make sure the seal is sealed... just sayin' :)

Price: £22.40 for 75 ml- which is the only downfall of the product as it is a little pricey, but you do not need a huge amount.

But before you run out to go and buy this, go to a Dermalogica counter or a salon that stock the products and ask for a Face Mapping Analysis which will allow them to customise products for your skin type. Remember, what might work for me may not work for you and vice versa :) Oh and im using their "Special Cleansing Gel' for a while now and will do a review on it soon.

Oh and something random... I LOVE Transformers and Mr Shia Labeouf ;) I have been hooked since the first one! And I know some people are like "its a boy's film".. but SO WHAT!!! You HAVE to see the latest one (Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon)...Its AMAZING, especially in 3D!!! The action, the fight scenes, the cars (beautiful) the one liners (its actually hilarious)...ahh the joy :) I am going to see it a second time.. (I know, that is quite sad right?!). And btw Josh Duhamel = HOTTIE!!!
I just want to have a yellow Camaro that transforms, is that too much to ask??? ;) one day, one day...

Have you tried any Dermalogica products and let me know if you like Transformers...
